Why build a privy on the #AT without a roof? Also its raining again. It just goes on and on and on. No wonder everything is so green.

I’m in Helen, GA today and tomorrow. This if the first time I’ve been able to use a computer so I cleaned up the blog a bit and uploaded some pictures. Unfortunatly I only have another hour before the library closes so I won’t have time to make the picture page pretty until my next stop.
Trip is going well so far. A bit colder at night than I expected, but that will change sooner than I want. I didn’t have many expectations going into this, but things have been better than I thought. Water is so frequent I almost never carry more than 2 liters. Shelters and campsites are at good intervals and people have been very friendly. Already met with 5 other people doing thru-hikes.
I have been taking it easy these first couple days. Its supposed to take 2-4 weeks before you really get your hiker legs and I’m trying very hard to not over do it. I want to go faster than my feet are able to, but I try not to break myself faster than my body can heal. Today will help as I only hiked 4 miles and will get to sleep in a real bed. Plus a hot shower! Its amazing how small things can become the greatest thing in the world with a small change in perspective. Now I’m going to go make an all you can eat buffet lose money on me.
